Weddings like this somehow breathe new life in to my work each and every time. Its not what you might imagine when you first hear the word ‘wedding’, and that is probably why I love it so much. Mike & Melissa’s Hatcher Pass Lodge elopement was just the five of them. Just them, their three boys, the officiant, and me. As you can imagine, incorporating three young boys in to a first look was the most adorable thing ever! We took a little hike to the perfect spot for a mountain top ceremony in hopes that some energy might get burned off in the process. We had a rock throwing contest down by the river, and nobody cared when the boys ran around a bit or accidentally lost their focus during the ceremony. It was really meaningful to me that this wedding was not just about the bride and groom. It was not about perfect details or timelines and there was no stress. This wedding was entirely about celebrating the joining of two families exactly as they are.
