At nearly every wedding, something unexpected is bound to happen to keep everyone on their toes. The kinds of things that happen at Alaskan weddings can be especially interesting because of the weather and some of the more remote locations that we work at. Also, I personally tend to be a little accident prone and not super graceful! These two factors combined led to a minor mishap at Jeline & Shawn’s girdwood wedding photos at crow creek mine.
Here’s what happened: I was lining up the entire wedding party for a group shot. I had everyone almost in place and decided I wanted my shot to be a bit wider. Rather than simply grabbing a different lens, I decided to step back. Across a creek. This should have been no big deal, I hop/step across creeks often and its fine. This time however I stepped on to what appeared to be the other side of the creek, but was actually about 12 inches of mud. Yeah. I was wearing ankle booties for this wedding that were loose enough to fill up completely with mud…and one boot was almost suctioned completely off my foot when I was trying to get out. So. embarrassing. Did I mention that I had the entire wedding party lined up in front of me for this whole situation?? I can’t blame anyone for laughing at that one…how could you not?? At least I got some genuine smiles for that shot!
ANYWAYS. Here are some of my favorite moments from Jeline & Shawn’s beautiful day! Not even a boot full of mud put a damper on this one. I loved every minute of it.
