This day has been a long time coming, you guys! I photographed Kari & Corey’s Alaskan elopement early this past June. Because they never do anything halfway…we did not one but THREE shoots in a two day span. We began with a cold and rainy morning of kayaking on Eklutna Lake (more fun than it sounds…and so gorgeous, more on that later). The next day we flew in a small plane in to the Alaskan wilderness where Kari and Corey said I Do on a gorgeous riverbed. Finally, we went out at dusk on a windy day to get a few more portraits with mountains in the background. I love that Kari & Corey went big for this celebration. While they wanted this ceremony and the start of their marriage to be intimate, they wanted to bring plenty of documentation home to share with their friends and family! Who says that elopements need to be defined a certain way? Certainly not this girl…dream big, even for the tiniest of weddings.
PS: I have to say something about this first image! This image of Kari seeing herself in the mirror might be my favorite shots of the entire day. I just love the expression of pure amazement on Kari’s face! She was a lovely bride and the work of her talented florist and hair+MUA was flawless! I love seeing my couples so happy on their wedding day.
