I always encourage couples that I work with to do an engagement session if it is at all possible. If you read my blog very often you probably already know that I love them, but I’m here to say it again…probably not for the last time! There are a few reasons for this: Anchorage Alaska Engagement Photographer
1. You simply can’t find a better way to prepare to be photographed on your wedding day. For most people this is super important because being photographed can feel awkward and uncomfortable unless you somehow spend a lot of time in front of a camera for your day job. I promise, about 20 minutes in to the engagement session you will wonder why you were ever nervous, and on the wedding day you will actually look forward to the photos!
2. It is the best way for me to get to know my couples, we just get to spend a couple of hours hanging out and I shamelessly ask as many questions as I want. I love hearing love stories, and you are my captive audience…I hope you don’t mind! I think that knowing each other (you can ask me questions too) makes everything better, and easier, and just better.
3. You have to do a lot of hard work planning a wedding, and I may be biased but this is some of the most fun work of it all. All I’ll do is take you somewhere super gorgeous to walk around holding hands and kissing a lot. Its pretty fun, trust me.
Matt & Karina flew in from DC and squeezed this shoot in on a busy weekend. In between Easter celebrations and tastings at Alyeska and fittings with the seamstress. I’m so thankful that they were able to make it happen, and that we were gifted with such a gorgeous (albeit CHILLY) Spring evening in Alaska.
