It is important to always go with your gut when you’re a wedding photographer. What I mean is, when you meet with a couple and love them, make sure you get to photograph their wedding…(the reverse is also true, you guys.) I absolutely loved Ricky & Sarah right away and knew that we would be a great fit, which is a very important part of good wedding photography (in my opinion). I think that the more at ease a couple feels with their photographer, the better the photos will be. As I photographed Ricky & Sarah on their wedding day, I honestly felt like I was spending the day with friends. I get the feeling that pretty much everyone feels that way about these two! They both exude an honest warmth and familiarity that draws people in and makes them feel at ease. Eagle River Catholic Church Wedding
When Sarah opened her gift from Ricky before the wedding ceremony, I about lost it. It was the first time in my 8 years of shooting weddings that I have had too many tears in my eyes to see through the lens. Don’t worry, I made a quick recovery! There were several moments like that throughout the day, and I am so thankful to have been a witness to the beginning of this marriage.

This was the very last weekend that the tram at Alyeska Resort was open for the season. I am so glad that we had the opportunity to take the wedding party up to capture that gorgeous late-Autumn light!
