Kunihiko (Kei for short) and Kelly have one of the sweetest love stories I’ve heard.
Their relationship started as simply as pen pals, one living in America the other in Japan…it was a way to learn about one another’s culture and language. What started as letters developed into a romantic relationship, and after 4 years of writing back and forth (and a few visits thrown in), they finally walked down the aisle just a couple of weeks ago! I can imagine that the road wasn’t always an easy one, but it is clear to all who know them that these two were ‘meant to be’!

I loved Kelly’s flowers! So simple and beautiful…lily of the valley and hydrangea made up her bouquet.

I had never seen rings like this! The band in the center of Kelly’s is tree resin, and Kei’s has tree bark in the center band. The wedding was held at Lake Katherine Nature Center in Palos Heights – such a beautiful, natural venue right outside of the city. It was pretty chilly that day, but the guests all braved the weather, and it turned out to be a beautiful ceremony.Proud Momma. I think Kelly is gorgeous in this shot…she and Kei were so natural together that it made my job even more fun!I got all choked up when Kei surprised Kelly during the reception and sang her a song he had written – what a sweetheart! It is when I get to be a part of weddings like this that I feel like the luckiest person in the world…I just love my job!
