I first met with Mike and Beth almost a year ago, at The Book Cellar – one of my favorite Lincoln Square Coffee Shops. We chatted for a bit and it wasn’t long before I found out that Beth and I majored in the same things in College and that she is now an Art Therapist…which is what I thought I might pursue before discovering that I love wedding photography so much. I am still fascinated by Art Therapy, and I think that it is an amazing career path – I could have asked Beth questions about that all evening.
I came away from our meeting confident that Mike and Beth’s wedding would be fun and unique…and I was definitely right. I could shoot weddings like this all year and be happy – it was just so personal to them, and that is the way I think that weddings should be.
Beth found her dress at a vintage shop, and it was lovely!
I could shoot Beth all day…she is beautiful. (And, is it just me or does she have a celeb look-alike? I can’t place it)So cute! Happy together…I took a couple of shots in the storage room…the coordinator even came in to see what I could possibly be shooting in there. The thing is, it had this big frosted window so the light was gorgeous, and that makes all the difference. Beth & Mike trusted me though, and thats all that matters really!I just love this shot – I knew right away that I’d be blogging this one.The Pleasant Home was beautiful, both inside and out. I love this set of images by the garden. This bumps up to the top of the list of my favorite ring shots! These three teacups were just sitting there waiting to be used in this shot.
This great tree was perfectly placed for the ceremony – how cool to be married under a big old tree!Fall is here! You can see that the first red leaves have turned.
Instead of a unity candle or other similar traditions, Mike and Beth decided to do a tree planting. The symbolism is quite beautiful, and I’ve never seen it done before.
You may now…Love this one! These two shots are why recessional shots are always some of my favorites. On the tables were all different types of flowers, simply tied with ribbon. I thought it was yet another great touch…The reception was catered by Maya Del Sol in Oak Park. Everyone was raving about the food…and they had a lot of really fun looking appetizers passed before the meal…this was jicama with avocado mousse and seared shrimp – yum! There were excellent toasts at this wedding! I think there were 4, and each one was both funny and touching…which is actually really hard to do.Dancin’ on the porch.Congratulations to you Beth & Mike!
I truly enjoyed your wedding…thanks again for having me be a part of it!
