Claudia & Rob are from New York, but they’re getting married here in Chicago next summer…we’ve talked on the phone and emailed back and forth a bit but it was fun to finally meet these two in person for their engagement session!
They decided that it would be fun to go with a more gritty/industrial look for their e-shoot, something a little bit unexpected. Knowing that, I suggested that we meet in the West Loop…what better location for some amazing industrial looks in Chicago?

I often give some direction throughout my engagement sessions to help my couples get into positions that look relaxed in front of the camera. These two didn’t need it…I’d start to give some direction and they would already look like this…I think this image is different than a lot of what I usually post, but there is something about it that I really like. Its just simple. Rob is a cop. Doesn’t he look like one? I think I could have guessed that if Claudia hadn’t told me.
I love this shot, its hard to pick a favorite but if I had to, this might be it.
