Last night was quite possibly the most beautiful fall evening we’ve had so far, it was not too cool but crisp. As I was driving I was thinking about how much I love my work, and how thankful I am for that. The light was so gorgeous as the sun started to go down…my ideal situation for an engagement session.
Not so ideal was when I got pulled over (my first time ever!!) RIGHT as I was pulling into the parking lot to meet Jill & Greg. I could see them standing beside their car as the officer flashed his lights at me…I could have waved at them – the SHAME!! I guess I didn’t make a complete stop at that last stop sign…or the 2 or 3 before it…and also didn’t notice that it was in fact a police car, and not a taxi behind me. Whoops!! At least he let me off with a warning. But he did feel the need to follow me in another loop around the block just to make sure that I do in fact know how to come to a complete stop, way to rub it in officer.

Despite all that, I had a great time with Jill and Greg and was so excited about their photos that I worked on them until 2am this morning. Here is a glimpse of their grassy, beachy, glowy Evanston engagement session!
We met at Gross Point, which is also where the Evanston Arts Center is, and it is such a beautiful little spot. Definitely worth a visit on a beautiful evening.I like this. Yes, I know that the sun is shooting rays across Greg’s face…but I really like that quality about it…personal preference I guess.
Lake Michigan, you make me happy!
I’ve been waiting for a good time to use these big white lifeguard chairs as props, last night was the night!loooove this one! Jill is gorgeous. It made me so happy that Jill & Greg were troopers and willing to lie down in the grass for some shots! I think the result was well worth it…
Jill’s top is from Anthropologie (my favorite). I think this grass heart is very anthro-esque as well. One of the DIY projects that Jill has planned for their wedding is 1000 of these hand made paper cranes. I can’t remember if she said they’ve done 200 or have 200 to go…but either way, it is quite the undertaking! I can’t wait to see how she decides to use them! This is my favorite shot. Of the whole night. Why? I don’t know! Just somethin’ about it.After leaving Gross point we went closer to downtown Evanston to this little park. This is actually the park where Jill & Greg first met when they were in Preschool together! It wasn’t until 20-some years later that they realized it though, when they met again in college. Isn’t that cute?! I love it.Jill & Greg…you were wonderful to work with, and I can’t wait for your wedding next year!
