After the ceremony I rode on the party bus with the wedding party. During the ride I got to chat a bit with Mike, and I asked him to tell me a bit of the story of how he and Andrea got together. He told me how a friend introduced them and that they hung out a few times but really lit up when he told me about their first trip together. They went to Machu Picchu…a place where he’d always wanted to travel. “Was she a good travel partner?” I asked. He said “The best, thats why I’m marrying her.”
He went on about how great of a match they were on that trip and how he just fell in love. Its true really…someone being a good travel partner is symbolic of a lot more than that.
Andrea’s dress was amazing. I loved the touches of rose…
Love, love, love this shot of Andrea. There were 4 adorable children in this wedding party…this is Kallen, the ring bearer. He came up to Andrea while we were all waiting for the ceremony to start and said “Why are you a princess?” Such a charmer. You can almost see the wow as he looks at her. One of the best moments of the whole day.
Mike’s family belongs to St. Demetrios, which was where he and Andrea got married. This was my first time shooting a Greek Orthodox wedding and I thought it was so beautiful.
These two crowns have been blessed by the priest and are joined by a ribbon to symbolize their unity.Circling the alter 3 times, in their first steps as a married couple.
We went down to the lake to take some photos, it was that perfect time of day where the sun was about to set. The whole wedding party was amazing despite the freezing wind…It was so much fun to photograph these two! I told them that if it weren’t so cold outside I could have kept shooting all evening.Seriously Andrea? Gorgeous.
This shot instantly moved onto my list of favorite shots….something about it. The reception was held at Meridian Banquets. I loved the color choice of soft/frosty tones, really different than what most people go with for a winter wedding. As usual, some of my favorite moments to capture were during the speeches. Michael’s words to Andrea were perfect.
Mike & Andrea, you guys were so wonderful. I wish you both all the best in this new phase…starting with an amazing honeymoon in Spain!
