If you look at my blog very often, you probably know that I don’t regularly post family sessions. I love being an Anchorage family photographer, but I have an extra soft place in my heart for those families who let me into their home for a documentary-style family shoot. I come over and just capture the normal happenings. No special outfits, not too much ‘look over here and smile!’ just the family as they are. I think there is something so meaningful about capturing a family in their home so that someday you have these intimate images to help tell your kids the story of what life was like in this stage. To me, when I look at these photos, I can see and feel the love that these two have for their first baby boy. I can’t help but think that someday when they show these pictures to Calvin, he’ll be able to see it too…and that is a gift beyond measure.
