If you look at my blog very often, you probably know that I don’t regularly post family sessions. I love being an Anchorage family photographer, but I have an extra soft place in my heart for those families who let me into their home for a documentary-style family shoot. I come over and just capture the normal happenings. No special outfits, not too much ‘look over here and smile!’ just the family as they are. I think there is something so meaningful about capturing a family in their home so that someday you have these intimate images to help tell your kids the story of what life was like in this stage. To me, when I look at these photos, I can see and feel the love that these two have for their first baby boy. I can’t help but think that someday when they show these pictures to Calvin, he’ll be able to see it too…and that is a gift beyond measure.
Ready to have your family captured in the beautiful Alaska? Whether you are a native or just visiting, I would love to meet you and share your family’s story through photographs. Email me to book your session!
Erica Rose captures love and life across Alaska and near Anchorage! She loves to work with adventurous couples and families that maintain a sense of elegance in their style, even on top of a mountain.
