We spent last weekend in Iron River Michigan with our friends Joshua and Rachel. It was a weekend of walks in the woods, antiques, carmel apples, hot chocolate, Rook, Ticket to Ride, Fargo, tea, CPBC, boats and sleeping in the car. The air had the kind of chill that left frost on the windshield, fog on the lake and made you put on a couple extra layers. Such a good weekend away – life has a different pace in the UP.
I grew up in an area where the fall colors aren’t as prominent, and I couldn’t get over it! So gorgeous. I don’t think a photo can do it justice really, but that didn’t stop me from trying…
Happy to be out of the city? Yes, I think so. It was kind of rainy so I had fun with reflections.I bought one caramel apple for Jamie and I to share, thinking they were too big to eat alone…bad decision. This was the best caramel apple I have EVER had, and I’m a bit of a connoisseur. My favorite fall treat for sure.

Pretties.
I loved the warm yellow glow. Now this was an escape.

Yellow, Orange, Red.
