Merry Christmas everybody!
I spent a little time  on the lake behind the house before lunch, everyone else was skating…

…while I was remembering the fall-through-the-ice scenes from White Fang and Little Women…staring down at these treacherous looking cracks in the ice. I’m a bit of a chicken, I guess.We’ve got 2 more Alaskan days before heading out to BC for a week! I can’t wait to see my family, spend New Years with friends in Seattle, and just BE in Canada. Home, sweet home.

PS I will be honoring my Canadian roots tomorrow by making a trip to Nordstrom for Boxing Day…its an obligatory, I swear.
PPS I got the Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest for Christmas…can’t wait to crack it open on the plane.
