I got back from Mexico last night…it was a glorious 4.5 days of summer which went much too fast! I do not like being cold, so a little Mexican break from winter was a dream come true. This was a trip of firsts for me:
My first Destination Wedding outside of the USA or Canada, first trip with just me and my mom (Jamie couldn’t come because there was a big important conference he couldn’t miss this week, so I was thrilled that my mom could join me on this one!) and first time staying at an all-inclusive.
The beach was lovely. The resort had lots of great pools, but it also backed up right onto the ocean which was really nice.
There was an endless parade of people bringing us drinks…endless. This was the view from our suite – I felt fancy looking out at this.Day two was a little cloudy, so we walked into San Jose to see something outside of the resort – it was my favorite afternoon because I felt like we got a glimpse of the true culture of the area. Normally I’m not a resort person, I felt much more at home doing this.A local guy told us to try this taco place for lunch – Rossi’s. It was delicious…margaritas and tacos!
My momma – she’s cute, right? Day 3 was spent lounging by the pool with my mom, playing cards, reading Steig Larsson and sipping amaretto sours. Glorious.Day four was wedding day. I’m working on those photos right now…and can not wait to share! I should have a sneak peek up tomorrow.
PS I missed the great Chicago blizzard while I was away, which made the trip that much sweeter…but resulted in a 9 hour layover in LAX because my flight was cancelled. Thank the Lord for Wi-Fi which allowed me to watch the bachelor while I was waiting.
A trip of firsts :: in Mexico.

I like the last picture of Sonja.
Haha! Thanks! I know…the photos on their site just don’t do the resort justice at all.
Have fun on the boat today, maybe when you get home tonight there will be a preview on here for you to see – I’ll work hard to make that happen, I promise!
Erica, Dan and I love your pictures, especially the one of the night shot of the adult pool. We think its a beautiful photo and you should sell it to the resort, since your photos are amazing and well theirs…. Thanks so much for coming, we do miss you guys.
