Even though I am an Achorage, Alaska Wedding Photographer, I still have connections to my past in Chicago! Scarlett and I met once about 5 years ago in Chicago when she was starting her photography business and asked if we could meet to talk business a little bit. When we met for coffee she was lovely, easy to talk to and I liked her instantly! I got a sense that if she wanted to become a wedding photographer that she would definitely succeed. It was pretty random to see a facebook message from Scarlett pop up so many years later, and even more so to hear that she and her husband were about to board a plane to Alaska! Jonathan had completely surprised her with a 30th birthday weekend adventure in Alaska (love this!) and she was hoping that we could meet up for a little photo shoot.
Its always interesting to photograph other photographers, I know that when I get in front of a camera I feel so. painfully. awkward. But I make a point of doing it every year or so, for updated photos but also to keep me sympathetic towards my clients. You never know what you’re going to get! It was smooth sailing photographing these two together, and so much fun to catch up on the last 5 years in between shots.
