What an incredible joy it was to be a part of Abby & Taylor’s Orca Point Lodge wedding! Let me tell you about this school I went to in Chicago. It is a small liberal arts college in the city. Lots of people go there because their parents went there/their siblings went there…etc. I went there for 2 years because they took my credits from a small Bible College I attended for after high school, and I wanted to graduate! What I found was that there is this kinship & sense of community among the people that went to that school, and an instant and real connection. I didn’t know Abby at North Park, or her two older brothers who also went there…but when I walked in to their airbnb the night before the wedding it was pretty amazing to be welcomed in to the family and to get to know the whole family on a much more real level than ‘oh! I went to North Park too!’ I shouldn’t be surprised any more when I find/meet people who also went to this tiny school, somehow we seem to find each other everywhere! Thank you to the King family for welcoming me in and hosting me, and to Abby & Taylor for choosing me to be a part of your day! What a kind and generous group of people you all are.
(The stunning venue was Orca Point Lodge on Colt Island, a 30 minute boat ride off the coast of Juneau)
