Engagement Sessions are one of my favorite parts of the wedding process. Its just such a relaxed way for me to spend some time getting to know my couples, to determine their style, to hear more about the wedding and honeymoon plans and just hang out on a stress free day.
I think that having an engagement session can be a great way for people to get comfortable in front of the camera, too. I’ve had couples arrive at an e-shoot SUPER nervous (telling me they wished they had stopped for a couple drinks on the way…) and leave loving it, wondering why they were ever nervous, and SO much more excited about their wedding photos.

Salvage One, one of my favorite locations…

This was shot in Colorado this summer – I love that Jesse actually wears cowboy hats on a daily basis, you just don’t see that in Chicago : )
It might have been this shot that started my love-affair with long grasses. This photo of Lindsay & Jon on the L marked a change for me, stylistically. Maybe that doesn’t make sense, but I think that this photo helped to define my style. At the time this was different than what I ever shot, and yet I loved it…and I still do.

Oh, Molly’s Cupcakes…you are so delicious.

Now, please know that I wouldn’t say that these are my favorite shots of the year…I just tried to select shots that reflected my style and a range of shots from throughout the year. Please click the ‘engagements’ category if you want to see more!
