Before Christmas this year Jamie, Levi and I flew down to BC to spend a few days with my family. For a brief 12 hours or so ALL of us were there. Kristen and Jeremiah flew in from Minneapolis, Jon came home from the University of Ottawa. We all got to eat brunch together at my Mom and Dad’s house before Jamie and I needed to head back to the airport. Anyone who lives far away from their immediate family knows the feeling…its hard to always be saying goodbye! I’m lucky to be able to travel and visit my parents often, but the times when all of us are together are harder and harder to find. My hope is that one day we’ll all live close enough that normal life will include lots of time together, but until then we’ll take what we can get!
Of course, my mom’s one demand is that we capture these brief and sweet moments on camera…conveniently I happen to have a camera.
As new parents, another bonus of being with family is having a few very willing babysitters around to love Levi while we go on a date. Jamie and I took advantage of that to go up to Cypress Mountain on a little snowshoeing adventure. If you’ve never spent time in Vancouver, you really really should…

  1. I’m so jealous of your winter wonderland!!! We haven’t gotten to enjoy the snow this year since we haven’t had any! I’m itching for a winter weekend away somewhere cold & snowy! Also – you guys are adorable, as always!
